Porsche's first fully electric sports vehicle is named Taycan

STUTTGART, Germany -Porsche's first electric auto, which has been known as the Mission E during its development, will be called the Taycan (pronounced tie-con), when it goes on sale late next year.

At the Porsche headquarters in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen, a new paint shop, dedicated assembly area for the Taycan, and a conveyor bridge for transporting the painted bodies and drive units to the final assembly area all are now being built.

Porsche's Mission E concept had envisaged a stylish sedan that would match all other Porsches in performance and its electric powertrain will run for over 300 miles at least in a single charge.

The Porsche Taycan will debut the company's 800-volt charging system called Porsche Turbo Charging that offers ultra-fast charging. Porsche claims a maximum range of over 500 km for the Tesla Model S rival. I'd say this is a fitting name.

The Taycan is the company's first all-electric vehicle globally and yes, it's coming to India too.

Hitman 2 Announced Slated to Release This November
From sun-drenched streets to dark and risky rainforests, nowhere is safe from the world's most creative assassin, Agent 47 . The first trailer for Hitman 2 has shot its way onto the internet, but it's more subtle than you might think.

With regard to the special exhibition and Mission E's important part in it, Porsche said in its recent announcement that "the special exhibition will be accompanied by interactive experiences", including an augmented reality (AR) application for the Mission E.

Even with that, adding range back in should be more rapid than with most electric vehicles.

Porsche plans to invest more than six billion Euros in electromobility by 2022, doubling the investment that the company had originally planned. Around 500 million euro is going to go on Taycan variants and derivatives, it says, while around a billion euro will got on electrification and hybridization of the existing Porsche line-up.

Power for the Taycan will come from two electric motors that will generate more than 600 horsepower and likely provide all-wheel drive.

Safeguarding Porsche's cachet and healthy profit margins as the company makes huge investments in electric cars and new digital services is vital for parent Volkswagen AG.
